The Vicente Rodriguez Memorial Scholarship

"This scholarship was established at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2009 in memory of Vicente Rodriguez, who died as a result of an accidental fall less than a week after his 20th birthday. According to news reports, “The UNLV student fell nearly 40 feet to the showroom’s floor when trying to balance on a railing to reach a secure spot and clip in his fall-arrest line. He had taken a one-night job to help pack up equipment…” He was looking forward to working in the live events industry.

"We need the story to be told and remind all that safety and health come first as we turn the wheel of entertainment again," says industry veteran Kim Scott, chair of the UNLV Entertainment and Engineering Design Department advisory board."

A Note from our Chair:

As we have all faced our challenges during this unprecedented time in our industry, I am proud to announce the launch of the new web portal for our membership and industry colleagues. The executive committee of IMDR seized this opportunity to launch a new platform to provide a place of collaboration, information and happenings in our industry.  It was important for us to create a resource where all entertainment professionals can go to for the latest information on safety and health matters so all curtains can go up!  This will also be an opportunity to share your news. Opening productions, new safety measures, awards, scholarships, anything of interest to the live entertainment community.  We look forward to hearing your ideas and sharing your information with the IMDR Region.

On behalf of the IMDR Board, thank you for being a member and we look forward to continuing to provide membership benefits for you.

Kim Scott
Chair IMDR
